This document outlines the visual system, interaction patterns, and component architecture developed for Evidentium. The design is optimized for high-stakes legal data management, prioritizing clarity, provenance, and regulatory compliance (LABE guardrails).

1. Design Tokens (Evidentium System)

Color Palette

  • Brand Primary: #1a3050 (Navy) - Used for headers, primary actions, and "institutional" sections.
  • Surface: #f8f9fb - Soft off-white to reduce eye strain.
  • Surface Container: #ffffff - Elevated card backgrounds.

Typography

  • Headings: Playfair Display (Serif) - Establishes formal, document-like authority.
  • Body/UI: Inter or System Sans-Serif - High legibility for dense data grids and timelines.

Elevation & Shape

  • Roundness: ROUND_EIGHT (8px corners) for a modern yet stable feel.
  • Shadows: Low-altitude shadow-sm on cards to maintain a "flat document" metaphor.

  • TopAppBar: Persistent brand presence with case-specific breadcrumbs.
  • BottomNavBar: Primary navigation (Dashboard, Matters, Escalations, Audit Log, AI Transparency).
  • Global Disclaimer: High-visibility persistent banner explicitly stating "NOT LEGAL ADVICE."

Matter Detail & Timeline

  • The Chronology Rail: A vertical line connecting events. Each event node displays a confidence score pill (e.g., 85% Confidence).
  • Source Data Excerpt: Standardized quote blocks for source_excerpt, clearly separated from AI summaries.

Verification Flow (Split-Pane)

  • Document Preview Pane: Top pane (scroll-to-sync capable) displaying source text.
  • Extraction Summary: Bottom pane with direct actions: Verify Alignment vs. Flag Contradiction.
  • Integrated Crisis Support: In-line UI injection (Lifeline 13 11 14) within stressful flagging workflows.

Document Coverage Matrix

  • Category-Based Grid: Maps document categories (e.g., Proof of Employment, Medical Nexus) to uploaded files.
  • Guardrail Logic: Focuses on "Document Coverage" and "Procedural Tracking" rather than "Legal Sufficiency."
